Holiday Chocolate Peppermint Bark Recipe

Chocolate bark is a simple and delicious treat that is perfect for gift-giving or enjoying yourself. You will need chocolate (you can choose your favorite, we prefer dark chocolate or white chocolate), candy canes, and peppermint extract to make the chocolate bark. This easy recipe is sure to be a hit!
Ingredients:
1 box of regular-sized candy canes (1/2 cup crushed)
10 oz bag of dark chocolate chips or white chocolate chips (we prefer Ghirardelli)
1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract
Instructions:
Line a half-sheet baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
Add candy canes to a ziplock back and break them into small pieces. Make sure you have a 1/2 cup worth.
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. It should take about two minutes. Remember to stir every 30 seconds until the chocolate is smooth.
Add the peppermint extract and mix the crushed candy canes with the chocolate.
Lastly, spread the chocolate into an even layer onto the baking pan and place it in the refrigerator for about 25 minutes. Once it has cooled, the chocolate bark can be broken into pieces and enjoyed.
