Caprese Salad Skewers Recipe
The Caprese salad is an Italian dish made with fresh tomato, fresh mozzarella slices, basil, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Ingredients
40 grape tomatoes
20 ounces of mozzarella cheese, cubed
4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
4 tablespoons of fresh basil leaves, chopped
2 pinches of salt
2 pinches of ground black pepper
2 cups of balsamic vinegar
40 toothpicks or skewers
Instructions for Skewers
Toss the tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, olive oil, basil, salt, and pepper together in a bowl until well coated.
Take a toothpick or a skewer and add one tomato and one piece of mozzarella cheese. Repeat until you have the serving you need.
Instructions for Balsamic Glaze
Add one cup of balsamic vinegar to a saucepan over medium heat.
Once it comes to a boil, set on simmer for about 15 minutes until it is reduced to a syrup consistency, you can check consistency by using the back of the spoon.
As it cools, it will thicken a bit more.
Arrange the skewers on a platter; drizzle the glaze on top as your guest arrives.
